It is our pleasure to introduce the 9th triennial WWSF,
which took place in India, October 16th-26th 2011.
One of the most
spiritual countries in the world, India is the birthplace of Shakyamuni Buddha, our original teacher. Having the Whole World is a Single Flower conference in India has been a dream of many in the Kwan
Um School of Zen, and this ambitious project become a reality in 2011. This was a rare opportunity to see
the holy places where the Buddha was born, got enlightenment, taught, and died. It was also a great
chance to experience Indian culture first hand.
This trip was an unforgettable experience for those
who participated. The vision for
the tour was focused on together action. We traveled and practiced together, rejoicing in the unity
of our worldwide school. Many members of our school joined us for this wonderful and unique event!
